We have an exciting new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team within our Nottingham office, on a 12-month maternity cover.
The role
A 12-month FTC maternity cover, this role will lead on Management Accounting activities to provide reliable and timely information for internal and external reporting.
The role will manage a number of month end processes, as well as supporting in the delivery of budgets and forecasts, and regular financial insights for the Business Service departments.
The Finance processes and systems are undergoing transformation, and this role will support as required to ensure successful delivery of these changes.
Duties and responsibilities
Management Accounting & Control:
- Lead month end processes and work in conjunction with the rest of the Finance team to ensure month end reporting deadlines are met.
- Recharging operating expenses to other group entities and assisting in managing intercompany balances.
- Support in balance sheet management of e.g. fixed assets, accruals and prepayments including assisting with the balance sheet reconciliation process.
- Control changes to the chart of accounts.
- Assisting in ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
- Assisting in the efficient execution of the external audit and the production of audit information prior to and during the audit process
Systems:
- Build knowledge of the accounting system in order to assist in its administration.
- Support with the development of existing systems and the deployment of new systems.
Insight:
- Undertaking expense and overhead analysis and assist in reporting variances.
- Support in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for the Business Service departments.
- Work with the Business Service department heads to ensure they have a strong understanding of their departmental financials, and are well supported to be able to make good financial decisions.
Taking on reasonable ad hoc duties as and when they arise.
Requirements
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, logic formulas and look ups.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Relevant qualification i.e. ACCA/ACA/CIMA.
- Strong systems knowledge.
- Strong time management and organisation skills. The ability to prioritise work is essential.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive and personable approach.
- Receptive and open to learning new skills and acquiring an understanding of the industry.
